Happy Holidays!

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays to everyone out there.

I was looking back at photos from Christmas last year and I had my husband take a picture of my waist because I was convinced that it was the last month we were going to see it. Well it wasn't quite the last month, but we made it 6 months later.

May all your dreams come true in 2012.

My life in a nutshell . . .

Chapter 1: Livin' life and building a career

2001: diagnosed with PCOS

2001-09: better living through chemistry (birth control pills)

Chapter 2: Unable to do anything myself

9/09 - got married and threw out the pills!

10/09 - spontaneous ovulation while husband out of town at a funeral (initial thought . . . thats okay - better luck next time)

11/09-6/10 - no ovulations, no periods, no pregnancies

Chapter 3: Time for some drugs

6/10 - clomid 50 with nothing

7/10 - clomid 100 with nothing

8-9/10 - hiatus while waiting to get into REI clinic

10/10 HSG with only one open tube on my stumpy ovary side

10/10 - clomid 150 - again nothing

Chapter 4: Shoot me up baby!

11/10 - follistim cycle #1 - 2 eggs out (good & bad side) - not pregnant - mild hyperstim

12/10 - follistim cycle #2 - 3 eggs out (all bad side) - still not pregnant

1/11 - follistim cycle #3 /IUI - 1 egg out (bad side)- really not pregnant

2/11 - follistim cycle #4 /IUI - 1 egg out (good side)- certainly not pregnant

4/11 - follistim cycle #5 /IUI - 2 eggs out (bad side) - I think you can guess the results

5/11 - follistim cycle #6 /IUI - go big or go home cycle - increased the meds just a pinch and ended up with 20 follicles. Cycle cancelled.

Chapter 5: Living in the now

6/11 - month of birth control pills in an effort to reward myself with feeling normal, and to shrink these ovaries down to an appropriate size

6/11 - diagnosed with anti-sperm antibodies

7/11 - IVF / ICSI with single embryo transfer

7/23/11 - Holy crap . . . BFP!!!!!! Beta 184!

Chapter 6: What's going on down there?

8/2/11 - little sac on sono, huge multi-cystic ovaries

8/9/11 - + fht!

9/15/11 - First trimester screening + nuchal = high risk for chromosomal abnormalities (1/11 chance). Plus a 6 cm solid ovarian tumor.

10/13/11 - amnio 46XX

19 weeks - bleeding, cramping and bedrest with possible shortening cervix

23 weeks - contractions began, cervix 3 cm

27 weeks - contractions continue, cervix 2.7 cm

30 weeks - contractions continue, cervix 2.1 cm

33 weeks - contractions really bad, cervix < 1 cm, bedrest initiated

38 weeks / March 2012 - Beautiful baby girl born :)

Chapter 7 - my new life as a mom
